Becky Thomas is a Next Generation Coach focusing on helping Millennials and GenX’ers thrive in today’s cross-generational work environment. She has a corporate background in branding, marketing and strategy, an MBA from DePaul University, and more than 15 years of branding experience with fortune 500 companies and non-profits such as Jimmy Dean, Sara Lee, GUM brand and the Chicago Tribune as well as the National Restaurant Association.

MYBIOGRAPHY

Be Greater Consulting is a woman owned business that Becky founded and through her guidance achieved the leadership award from the Chicago Tribune, and is a member of the National Association of Professional Women and on the planning committee for Conscious Capitalism Chicago. She also serves as a mentor for 1871.

Becky Achieved her CPCC from The Coaches Training Institute, her PCC from the International Coach Federation and is certified in the Leadership Circle and Culture Survey 360 assessment tools, she also has an MBA from DePaul University.

THEMETHOD

My method is co-active, which means that there is no hierarchy between coach and student. We are equals. Coaching does not tell you what to do, like a manager or other authority figure. Coaching allows you to look at your own values and make the decisions that are right for you.

Becky:   “Having navigated the politics and the complexities of managing up, down, and cross functionally I bring my marketing background, corporate knowledge and international experience to provide insights and a unique relevant perspective to my coaching. Through my corporate experience of managing the P&L and having the responsibility for marketing strategies and driving profits, I understand what corporations need to get the job done.”

 

ETIMY:    “Whats really fun to do in your job as a Coach?”

Becky: “I like hearing the lightbulb go off when clients typically say –“ I’m all over the place” and within 10 minutes of slowing down they come up with a variety of different ways to decrease their own stress, come up with a plan of action and feel lighter as a result. Change happens so fast for all my clients, and I’m an A-Type personality so this works great for me to watch happen as well.”

Experience

Becky served as the director of an international MBA and Leadership program in Rome, Italy for nearly 4 years where she also served as adjunct professor for their leadership program.

She is also the founder of Be Greater Consulting, a woman owned business, has achieved a leadership award from the Chicago Tribune, is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, is on the planning committee for Conscious Capitalism Chicago and serves as a mentor for 1871.

Methods

By coaching with the Co-Active model I help individuals propel their personal brands by discovering what makes them unique and help them communicate effectively to reach the target audience that matters most.

I leverage my ability to help clients get out of the fog and into clarity when it comes to being an even more effective leader through assessments and tools that help clients see a new perspective getting them from where they are to where they want to be as a leader. We’re all “doing” great things, but how are we “being” when we’re doing what we’re doing?
